LDD-LAND DESKTOP DEVELOPMENT-AUTODESK

HOW TO IMPORT POINTS IN LDD? (POINTS MENU)
Ø  Create a file (say point.csv) including northing, easting and elevation
Ø  goto menu points>>import/export points>>format manager
Ø  select the option like nez(comma delimeted) then click on “ADD” button
Ø  select “user point file” click on “ok” button
Ø  type format name say(“pts”) and select extension (here “.csv”)
Ø  select delimited by and type “,” the text box
Ø  load the file (here point.csv) and click on parse
Ø  click on “<unused>” and select the required data field like northing for north
Ø  click ok
Ø  goto menu points>>import/export points>>import points
Ø  select the format (here “pts”) and source file path i.e. path for file “points.csv”
Ø  click “ok” , the points will be imported
Ø  under points>>points setting different settings can be done. The changed setting will be applied when the points are imported again.

HOW TO DRAW CONTOUR? (TERRAIN MENU)
ü  goto Terrain>>terrain model explorer
ü   right-click on terrain and select “create new surface” (say “a”)
ü  expand surface (hera “a”) and right click on “point files”
ü  click on “Add point file”
ü  choose format (hera “pts” as created in “how to import points in ldd?”) and path of the file whose contour has to be drawn (here “point.csv”)
ü  right-click on folder of new surface (here “a”) and click on “Build”
ü  click on “ok”
ü  close “terrain model explorer” dialog box
ü  goto terrain>>contour style manager and do the necessary changes and click “ok”
ü  goto terrain>>create contour
ü  a dialog box of “create contour” appears, do the necessary changes and click “ok”
ü  LDD draws the contour


HOW TO VIEW QUICK SECTION
v  DRAW A POLYLINE BETWEEN TO POINTS WHERE SECTION NEEDS TO BE CUT
v  GOTO  TERRAIN>>SECTION>>VIEW QUICK SECTION
v  SELECT THE POLYLINE
v  SECTION IS DRAWN IN A NEW WINDOW
v  TO DRAW PROFILE SELECT MULTIPLE POLYLINE
v  in the menu “section” of the section view window, goto “view properties” and change the horizontal interval, vertical interval.


type “st” to change the text size if the overlap.
